Now is the time to start YOGA !

Now that you are some what familiar with the Dos and Donts in yoga, why should we waste time simply reading yoga literature ? Start practicing !!! And start it NOW.

Start asanas (yoga postures) only after a proper Breathing Exercise that warms up your body and makes its loose and flexible for stretches and bends.

Breathing Exercise 1


Steps

1.Stand erect with your feet hip-width apart and parallel to each other.Place your hands by the sides of your thighs.

2.Lengthen your torso, relax your shoulders, and draw your chin slightly inwards to lengthen your neck.

3.Inhale and stretch your arms over your head, by the sides while raising your heels up as far as you can.

4.Stretch your whole body upward ,spine stretched and neck straight and your toes bearing your body weight.

5.Balance yourself.Exhale and return to the initial position.

6.Repeat 10 times.

Breathing Exercise 2. 



1.Stand erect with legs together, hands by the side of the thighs.

2.Raise both the hands towards each side, so to make a line with shoulder.Keep your feet in line with your elbows (right foot in line with right elbow and left foot-left elbow line)

3.Exhale and bend slowly towards right side , with your right hand sliding down your right leg and touch -try to touch- the right foot or ankle.( if it is impossible at the initial trails, dont worry. practice regularly and you will master this. always keep in mind - DO NOT STRETCH BEYOND YOUR LIMITS. ). Simultaneously raise your left hand towards sky. The gaze also should be up towards left hand.

4.Remain in this position for 10 seconds.Slowly return to the second step position, while inhaling.

5.Again exhale and Start to bend slowly towards left side and touch the left foot with left hand, in the same as in the right bend.Right hand should Keep pointing towards sky. Gaze should be towards raised right hand.

6.Return to the original position, inhaling.

7.Repeat 10 times towards each side.

8.Bring down the raised hand and leave the toes and stand erect with legs together.

Breathing Exercise 3.



1.Stand erect keeping your big toes a feet apart and your heels touching each other.

2.Inhale and stretch your arms over your head, by the sides while Stretching your whole body upward.

3.Breathe normal in this stretched position.

4.Exhale, keeping the stomach in and bend forward without bending your knees.

5.Try to touch the floor in front of your feet.

6.Remain in this position for 5 seconds

7.Slowly inhaling, return to the initial position.

8.Repeat 10 times.

9.Bring down the raised hand and stand erect with legs together.
