How to Prevent Asthma Attacks in Simple Ways

There is no doubt that Asthma is one of the common health problems that millions of people suffer today. If you take a look at the health records across the globe you will find that more than 300 million people across the world suffer from asthma attacks and more than 250,000 people died of asthma annually. Hence, more pharmaceuticals companies are now looking forward to come up with new medicines and technology that can help asthma patients to cope up with their health problems. It is estimated that soon 10% of the global population will suffer from asthma because of increasing pollution and environmental hazards.

However, there are simple ways in which you can prevent your asthma attacks without making use of inhalers. Cold is the biggest enemy of any asthma patient and therefore asthma patients should avoid going to places where there is too much of cold. The reason behind this is that asthma patients might catch cold immediately and problems like common cold can make their asthma problem more serious. In cases like common cold, the respiratory pipe of asthma patients gets choked up and that is something that the patients don't want.

On the other hand, people suffering from asthma should not drink too much of chilled beverages and food because that again will create a lot of cold and cough inside their respiratory system. Hence, always try to control your cravings in the first place if you love eating a lot of ice creams and drinking too much of chilled beverages.

If you live in a city where there is too much of congestion and pollution try to wear a mask rather than walking down the streets carrying your asthma inhalers. People suffering from asthma can have attacks if there is too much of dust in the air and therefore a mask is a better idea.

Don't stress yourself too much at all times. Asthma patients might not notice it at times but stress can give them asthma attacks. Although, there is no direct connection but when people stress up the digestive system goes for a toss and that triggers attack. Hence, always try to keep yourself in control and meditate if you are prone to get too stressed up at times.

Avoid air conditioners at all times because that increases your chances of getting an asthma attack. Many researches have proved that air conditioners are not healthy for asthma patients. If you are in an office you can try to sit near the window so that you can enjoy the fresh breeze blowing outside. Similarly you can pull down the windows in your car and enjoy the fresh air and give your lungs some refreshment.
