Healthy Habits to Avoid Diabetes Mellitus

Healthy Habits to Avoid Diabetes Mellitus

It is important to understand that Diabetes has no cure. A common misconception is that insulin cures diabetes. Insulin does not cure this condition. It is merely a way to manage it. In fact, not all diabetic patients are prescribed with insulin supplements. Most type 1 diabetic patients need insulin. Type 2 diabetic patients, on the other hand, are non-insulin dependent. Although these two types have very similar complications, they have quite different origins and management approaches.

Like any other disease, prevention is always better than cure and, in the case of diabetes which has no cure, prevention is the only alternative. The most important thing is to lead a healthy lifestyle and promote healthy habits that keep yourself and your family away from this disease altogether

You are What You Eat

Our body needs the right nutrition to function properly. There are foods that decrease the risk factors of diabetes and these are for everyone, including those who are genetically predisposed to diabetes. These foods include non-starchy fruits and vegetables such as carrots, broccoli, green beans, spinach, etc. and whole grains such as brown rice, whole-wheat pasta, whole-wheat bread, whole-grain cereals, and oatmeal. These foods are low in cholesterol, prevent many types of cancer and aid in weight management. You can also introduce more lean meat and fish to your diet and most importantly, lots of calorie-free fluids — the best of which is water.

Weight Management

Another common misconception is that diabetes is caused by too much sugar or sweets. This is a myth. Too much sugar or sweets, however, lead to obesity which is seriously linked to diabetes. Obese or overweight people produce less insulin which is responsible for regulating the amount of glucose in the blood. They are, therefore, more prone to diabetes.

Daily Exercise

Exercising regularly reduces the risk of diabetes. When you fail to exercise, fat accumulates in your body which thereafter hinders the production of insulin. This also explains why obese or overweight people are seriously predisposed to diabetes.

Avoid or Eliminate Vices

Vices such as smoking and alcoholism weaken a person’s immune system. It is very important especially to those people who are at risk of diabetes to stop these habits at once and shift to a healthy lifestyle.

The Benefits of Energized Water

Researchers around the world, especially in Japan, has uncovered that most diseases are caused by water shortage in the body. When the level of hydration drops below the required level, the

body’s cellular processes tend to cease causing these cells to deteriorate and eventually manifest themselves as diseases.

After decades of scientific research, it has been found that energized water may be the solution to various health conditions such as diabetes, osteoporosis, obesity, chronic fatigue, high blood pressure, stomach cancer, dermatitis, hepatitis B, urinary bladder cancer, chronic bronchitis and many more. Energized water is not a medicine but it has been proven to improve the condition of patients having these diseases.
