The Chinese researchers leading the study reported a drop in intra-abdominal fat stores in the third group, which is a significant finding indeed.

Black Tea And Weight Loss

It is also possible that black tea aids in weight loss, if scientific studies are to be believed. Researchers have suggested that this type of tea boosts the growth of gut bacteria which in turn facilitates the shedding of pounds.

One of the study’s authors from UCLA states that these results indicate that these teas are beneficial and not just for the antioxidant properties they bring to the table. When mice were offered black and green tea extract and consumed a typical diet, it was found that they dropped weight at the same level as mice who were given a low fat diet.



Benefits Of Oolong Tea

This is a type of tea that falls halfway in the middle of black and green tea, and it is also known to aid in the burning of fat. A recent study involving the consumption of Oolong tea by obese and overweight individuals showed that 7 out of 10 subjects given 8 grams of oolong daily were able to lose more than a kilogram of weight. 22 percent of subjects lost more than 3 kilograms.

Researchers involved in the oolong study states that the tea can lower body fat and overall weight by enabling better metabolism of lipids. Consistent intake of oolong tea can potentially halt obestity, it has been posited.

Positive Attributes Of Puerh Tea

A fermented variety of tea, puerh has also been found to boost weight loss. Research involving 70 male subjects revealed losses of a kilogram more than was achieved with a placebo alone. Interestingly, those who drink water with lemon have also reported intriguing weight loss results.
