Busta Rhymes and Steroids – Famous Rapper Who Has Gotta be on “Juice”

He found his bright and memorable image which includes almost animated video clips, “clown” costumes, an unusual way to read rap. Another big plus is that he is not afraid to laugh at himself and the whole “black” music. His songs are imbued with humor, but he raises acute problems like politics, race relations, and religion. It’s all about Busta Rhymes, who is a famous American rapper. Below we describe his biography, as well as tell about interesting facts and steroid speculations.

Busta’s childhood and family

The future musician was born in Brooklyn. His name at birth is Trevor Smith. His ancestors were from Jamaica, where their music was reggae. Having appeared in the East Flatbush of Brooklyn, the boy and his family lived there until Rhymes was twelve. After that, they moved to Long Island. At about this age, he began to try himself in rapper craftsmanship. Very early, he began to strive to demonstrate his capabilities. It should be noted that at the age of 12 the boy demonstrated leadership qualities. Being an adroit and tall adolescent, Rhymes was engaged in basketball and even achieved excellent results. If it were not for his passion for music, he could have become a professional basketball player.

At one of the rapper contests, Busta met Charlie Brown with whom, as it turned out, he studied at the same school. Charlie was two years older, but they both wanted to become rappers, which united them. They decided to perform together at the next contest. The guys had been waiting in the queue at the door for a long time, but they could not come to the contest that day. However, the teenagers did not intend to surrender and came there again the next day. They managed to impress the jury by the quality of the reading. The PUBLIC ENEMY producers paid attention to them.

The beginning of the career and the first albums

Young people selected two more teenagers among the children of their school and the four started recording at the PUBLIC ENEMY studio. The group was called L.O.N.S. The full name sounded like Leaders of New School. At the age of seventeen, Busta, as part of this group, signed a contract with Electra Records. By that time, “savages from the street” had turned into a real force of a new school of hip-hop. In the early nineties the guys loudly announced themselves. After the band released two albums, as well as thanks to Afrocentric philosophy and the fascination with marijuana, L.O.N.S. became the real legend of the east coast. Their work was recorded in the history of underground hip-hop. In the nineties, this group was considered one of the most influential rapper groups.

To find their own style, to stand out, the band’s members devoted a lot of time to studying the history of hip-hop, the guys listened to a lot of things from “old-school”. Rhymes believed that all novice rappers should know the history of the chosen musical trend otherwise their achievements would be insignificant. Therefore, the band reflected that idea in the name of their first album. Unfortunately, having released only two albums, the band broke up. The guys went their separate ways. It was in 1993. However, there was no talk that reunification was impossible. Rhymes believes that someday they will come together again and record their third album.

The rap from Busta Rhymes

It’s not surprising that after the breakup of the band, Rhymes was much in demand in the rapper world. In 1995, he signed a contract with Elektra Records. A year later he was able to present the first solo album “The Coming”. It is known that the producer of the two albums of the musical group had been Rhymes, but for his album he invited several famous colleagues.

For a long time that album had been a gangsta rap trend-setter on the eastern coast. Due to the success of the debut album many talented young rappers gathered around Rhymes. That empire was called Flipmode Squad and became a true family for the musician. Together they nourish each other, not allowing to descend to mediocrity, always remaining on the same level. The album of the group called “The Imperial” was released in September 1998. By the way, Busta started one more business – creating (most likely, with the help of fashion designers) Bushi clothing line.

Without even having time to recover his breath, the singer released the third and so far the most powerful solo project – the album “Extinction Level Event – The Final World Front”. The work was imbued with “progressive” ideas of the end of the world and other apocalypses, which must certainly erase humanity from the face of the Earth, unless, of course, it did not come to its senses and began to lead a more proper way of life. The album contains a duet with Ozzy Osbourne – the song “This Means War”, and also the song “What’s It Gonna Be ?!”, performed together with Janet Jackson.

In 2002, Busta’s sixth album was released and he starred in films “Narc” and “Resurrection”. Further albums were released in 2006, 2009 and 2012. It should be noted that the albums were recorded in the already familiar style, at a very high level, with the participation of famous musicians and singers. The material presented on the discs is quite predictable, the albums turned out to be commercially successful.

Busta Rhymes and steroids

In 1989, Busta Rhymes was introduced to the hip-hop community as an amazing, almost fanatical, energetic young rapper who looked rather thin. After 20 years, Busta became more like a professional bodybuilder or an NFL player than a skinny rapper. Some increase in weight is undoubtedly due to the effects of aging, as well as eating at night, but the muscular mass of this rapper surprises many fans. Is it possible to gain 50-60 pounds of lean muscle mass with the help of protein supplements and attending a gym? Hardly that.

On the Internet, you can find assumptions that Busta Rhymes used Dianabol and Deca Durabolin.

  • Dianabol. The main component of this anabolic steroid is methandrostenolone. It can accelerate the anabolic processes in the body and reduce catabolic ones.
  • Deca Durabolin. The main component of this medication is nandrolone. The drug has a high anabolic effect, which is accompanied by small androgenic effects.

Another famous rapper who most likely used anabolic steroids is Dr. Dre.
