Don't you know that you can now be able to Search the contents of your Desktop just like you would do the internet? Well if you don't, then I guess you're happy to know about it today. What I know for now is that Google, Yahoo and Microsoft are offering this cool tool to us for free and it is really useful, especially for those of us who tend to forget where we have placed those files that we don't usually use.
This is indeed information when you want it. I'm currently evaluating Windows Desktop Search and Google Desktop. So far, Windows Desktop Search has proven useful to me especially in searching through old emails. Google's Desktop search works flawlessly too! I haven't tested Yahoo's version though. I ran out of computers. :-) But it's a good thing they came out with this idea. Great work guys!
There's just one thing I'd like users to do, and to keep on doing, once this tool is installed, always remember to logout or lock out your computer when not in use or if you're away. This tool can also be useful to those who'd like to get sensitive information may it be from you or from your company. Stay safe.
