Windows 7 Training: How to Maximize Your OS

Windows 7 training programs can help you maximize the features of Microsoft’s latest OS release, the Windows 7. This new OS is an improvement of the Windows Vista, with Vista’s strengths and certain improvements on the security and ease of use for both local and remote PCs. Vista users may find the look and feel of Windows 7 a bit familiar but there are many new features in the Windows 7.

One of the first things you’ll notice on the display is that the Start menu and taskbar has larger icons, large enough for your fingertips. This is because Windows 7 has fully embraced the multi-touch technology. If paired with a touchscreen PC, you can browse through files and photos, zoom, rotate, pan and change pages using nothing but your fingers.

There are, however, other features that are not as obvious but are very useful. Windows 7 has improved on Vista’s User Account Control. This is a security feature that helps defend your PC against malicious software and hackers. You will be alerted by UAC whenever a program wants to make a major change to your PC.

Another improved feature of the Windows 7 is the HomeGroup where sharing files among connected PCs becomes easier. HomeGroup is password protected and has an integrated security feature wherein you control which files to share, whom to share it with and which remains private, or you may opt to make your files “read-only” so other people cannot make changes in your files.

There are just so many new features and improvements in Windows 7. Once you familiarize yourself with the new features, you’ll be able to set up a more secure PC or network of PCs and enjoy the many add-ons in this version. You’ll also work on an interface that is easy to use. Though it is fairly user-friendly, even experienced users will find windows 7 training programs helpful for fully understanding and maximizing these new features.
