Wild Beyond Guide: Tips & Tricks for Dummies

Welcome to the dummies guide on how to get better in Wild Beyond. Here are some tips and tricks on how to get better at the game, increasing your unit’s stats and obtaining better unit cards.

Balancing your deck

It is not a good idea to set your deck with only full melee or squishy range cards. Make sure your deck includes a balance of different units in your deck to counter several units from the opponent: ‘Tanks’ (High HP units), stealth units or range units to finish off melee enemies faster. Another thing to take note of is that there are cards that attack enemy units either on the ground or air or both so make sure your deck has cards that can attack enemy units on the ground or air.

Also, do not put all your cards containing high power requirement (5 or more power) in your deck because you will have to keep waiting for power refills in order to Summon them. This will put you into a disadvantage during battle especially if your enemy units kill your units with lower power. You can check the card details including stats for every character by tapping on any of the cards and tap the ‘i’ icon.

High-level common cards vs high rarity cards

In this game, the high Rarity Cards usually are a much higher level than the common rarity cards. So make sure to place those high rarity cards in your deck since they are much stronger than common cards in the early game. In the later stages of the game, your common cards will be stronger than your high rarity cards (due to a higher level by upgrading) because of how easy the common cards will drop from chests.

To upgrade your cards, tap the ‘Upgrades’ from the main menu, select the card that you want to upgrade then tap ‘upgrade’. Take note that a card must have the required duplicate cards in order to upgrade and each upgrade has its own duration in order to finish upgrading. You can use Diamonds to instantly complete the upgrade but I would not recommend doing so since I think it is a waste of Diamonds. After successfully upgrading a card, not only that cards gain more stats but you will also obtain XP from it.

Pairing units are key

Do not summon units as a solo, otherwise, your units will get destroyed easily. Instead, try to figure out different combinations that are stronger when summoned together. One example is summoning both ‘Vanguard’ and ‘Alchemist’ together which is great for rushing towers very quickly. Another example is summoning ‘Plasma Cannon’ and ‘Vanguard’ for a powerful defense against enemy units who are about to attack your shields.

Using high number spawns to destroy bigger enemy units

Power trades, similar to Clash Royale are key to winning in Wild Beyond. Some of the low power cards have a high amount of spawns like the ‘Grunts’ and the ‘Drone Spawns’ can take down ‘Vanguard’ easily. However, they are vulnerable to AOE ability cards like the Kuro’s ‘Arcane Blast’ or ‘Corrosive Rain’.

Playing Wild Beyond with audio on

You might be tempted to mute the game while playing Wild Beyond on a train or taxi. I would suggest wearing headphones while playing. Some of the audio in the game does have useful audio cues that attract your attention when your units are killed or when your tower/shields have been under attack.

Being patient or just rush in

If you are just starting out, you might be tempted to summon your units as quickly as you can. But most of the time, it is better to let the power gauge build up. I would suggest waiting for your opponent to summon units first so that you can summon units that counter their attacks.

But there are times that you can summon all your units at once to surprise the enemy, then I will suggest doing so. You might even catch your opponent off guard and take down their base/shields within seconds for a clutch victory.

Summoning tank units from the back

Most tank cards do not move very quickly compared to other cards so I would suggest summoning them behind your shields. By the time the dropped unit gets to the midway points, your power gauge will be recharged to full and you can summon more support units. Take note though, as range units usually counter these type of push so it really depends if you want to take the risk or not.

Using your power to build Power Plants instead

There are times that it is much better to build your Power Plants instead of just summoning units in the early section of the match. The reason is that your power will recharge much faster depending on how many Power Plants you have built. This will put yourself in an advantageous position, allowing you to summon more units quickly over time compared to your opponent.

Summon your Commander at the right time

Summoning your Commander can change the tide of battle or gain even more advantage against your opponent. Take note, however, you can only summon your Commander once per match. I usually wait for the opponent to summon their Commander 1st so that I can summon mine to counter their advance.

Check the timer during battle

Timing is key in this game. Each match will last for 3 minutes long and when the timer runs out, both sides cannot summon their units and all current units will continue to attack. Take full advantage of this especially in a situation where you and your opponent’s shields are still not destroyed but your opponent’s shields are weak. Summon as many units as you can to gain a huge advantage once the timer runs out.

Play the ‘Campaign’ mode

Other than playing the ‘Multiplayer’ mode, you can also do the ‘Campaign’ mode where you can battle against AI opponents or defend your base against waves of enemies. I advise progressing the Campaign stages as far as you can to obtain Coins and once you defeat a boss (Commander), you will automatically unlock that Commander (Extra Deck). Playing a campaign stage consumes 1 campaign ticket. Since you have only 2 maximum campaign tickets and you have to wait for them to recharge, it is best to do the Campaign 1st then proceed on to the Multiplayer.

Joining an Alliance

Upon reaching level 4, you will unlock the Alliance feature. The Alliance is a Guild feature which is one of the important parts of Wild Beyond. I would suggest joining an Alliance if you have not done so. Other than chatting with other Alliance members, you can make different card requests or donate cards to other members. It is a win-win situation especially if you need specific cards without the hassle of opening chests or giveaway unwanted cards that are useful to other members.

You will also be able to complete Alliance Challenges for Alliance tokens which can be exchanged for cards from the Store (Daily Deals) and complete 2v2 matches with another Alliance member which gives you 3x the reward if your team wins which is actually a lot.

Complete all the quests

I recommend completing all of the quests other than the Alliance ones for tons of XP, chests, and cards. You can also collect a free chest once every 6 hours so make sure to collect it once it is ready.

Going P2W

If you want to obtain high rarity cards earlier in the game, you probably might have to spend real money in this game. This game rewards player who spent money in this game similar to Clash Royale. You can spend money on Diamonds (Sucks to be F2P) which can be used to open rare chests (Massive Chest and Colossal Chest) for high rarity cards or purchase cards in the store (Main Menu->Store->Deals).

If you want, you can actually purchase the ‘Elite Membership’ which allows you to earn double chest rewards from Multiplayer, gain 2x more Alliance tokens and instantly upgrades your cards without waiting.

If you are new to this game, you can download this game on either IOS or Android.
