Epic Seven Guide: Tips & Tricks for Dummies

Welcome to the dummies guide on how to get stronger in Epic Seven. Here are some tips and tricks on progressing further into the game, some basic strategies and leveling your heroes fast in the game.

Rerolling

This will be one of the most important tips in this game. The reason being is there are some characters are very strong throughout the whole game while some of them are pretty useless in the later stages of the game. Take note we will be focusing on both the ‘Selective Summon’ and the ‘Covenant Summon’ (Main Menu->Summon->Selective Summon/Covenant Summon) which unlocks after completing adventure stage 1-10.

If you do not have the characters that you want, you can reroll by resetting your data from the settings (Main Menu->4 squares icon at the top left side of the screen->Account Settings->Reset) and create your account again. So here are the characters that you should aim for. Shoutout to u/ImMotoko for the tier list.

Suggested 5-star characters (Best tier characters)

  • Sez (Thief) (Type: Ice) – Why is he so strong you may ask? His Dark Shadow skill inflicts an unhealable debuff, which prevents that target from being healed. If any of the enemies have below 50% HP, his other skill, Encroach will trigger which not only deals AOE damage to all enemies but also a chance to inflict unhealable debuff on all enemies. His trademark skill, Conviction deals additional AOE damage to all enemies if the targeted enemy is defeated. Very OP for both PvE and PvP.

  • Haste (Thief) (Type: Fire) – Another OP DPS thief is this character. He has one of the best bleed debuffs in the game. His Blood Rend skill inflicts 3 debuffs including unhealable, bleed and vampiric touch (allow allies to steal HP from the target). His trademark skill, Vampiric Seal is ridiculously strong. Not with it deals AOE damage to all enemies, it has a chance of inflicting 3 stacks of bleed for 2 turns. Superb character to use for both PvE and PvP.

  • Ravi (Warrior) (Type: Fire) – One of the best characters in the early stages of the game and later stages of the game. Her fighting spirit mechanic is what makes her very strong in battles. Her trademark skill, Devil Drive consumes fighting spirit but deals AOE damage to all enemies, as well as a high chance of stunning all enemies + reducing their combat readiness to 0%. Insanely good character to use for both PvP and PvE.

  • Krau (Knight) (Type: Water) – One of the best 5-star tanks in the game. His trademark Skill, Summon Ziegfried summons a guardian ziegfried as an additional ally which also provides the barrier buff to Krau. Great to use for both PvP and PvE.

  • Destina (Soul Weaver) (Type: Earth) – One of the best 5-star healers in the game currently. She can attack enemies and heal your ally at the same time. She can also remove all debuffs for your entire party + provide additional buffs and party heals. Great for PvE and PvP.

SSSSSS+SS
  • Iseria (Ranger) (Type: Earth) – I would say she is more like a supporter than a damage dealer. Her Oathkeeper skill resets the cooldown of an ally + grants an additional turn. Her trademark skill, Full Bloom not only removes all enemy buffs but makes them unable to buff for 2 turns which are pretty neat. Not as great for PvP but she is great for PvE.

Suggested 4-star characters (Best tier characters)

  • Armin (Knight) (Type: Earth) – Best 4-star character in terms of tanks. Other than increasing defense to an ally, she can stun, inflicts poison and reduces hit chance to enemies. Her trademark skill, Shield Wall provides barrier and heals your entire party. Decent for both PvE and PvP.

  • Clarissa (Warrior) (Type: Earth) – She is very good as a DPS if you know how to use her properly. Combining with her Rage skill and Hysteric trademark skill allows her to stack bleeding effect to enemies. Kinda okay to use her for PvE but works great in PvP.

  • Karin (Thief) (Type: Ice) – Stack her with critical hit chance/critical damage gear and she is a monster during battles. Her Blade Art: Flash grants her an extra turn if it crits which is pretty sweet. Also increases the damage of her trademark skill, Blade Art: Thunder if it crits. Pretty decent for both PvP and PvE.

  • Cidd (Thief) (Type: Earth) – Also known as the ‘Sonic the Hedgehog’ in terms of DPS. All his skills increase speed allowing him to gain turn advantage over its enemies. Also has the ability to debuff enemies with the Wind’s Resolve skill. Pretty decent for both PvP and PvE.

S+SA+A+S-
  • Silk (Ranger) (Type: Earth) – Not only she can deal high AOE damage due to her trademark skill, Storm Arrow, but she can also gain focus stacks (with her Concentration skill) and buffs allies by increasing their speed + debuffs enemies by reducing their speed. Pretty OP in PvP but still very decent in PvE.
ArenaConquest/StoryAbyssHuntOverall
SSSSA+S+
  • Angelica (Soul Weaver) (Type: Ice) – She is a good alternative to Destina. She can heal an ally with her Origin of Life skill. Her trademark skill, Guide of the Goddess works similar to Destina’s trademark skill. The main difference is that she provides immune buffs to your allies which are not affected by debuffs.

  • Achates (Soul Weaver) (Type: Fire) – Another good alternative to Destina as a healer. Her Rapid Cure skill is better than Angelica’s Origin of Life skill is because of the Invincibility buff. Her trademark skill, Curing Prayer heals your entire party and removes debuffs. Great for PvE but kinda okay for PvP.

Suggested 3-star characters (Best tier characters)

You will obtain more 3-star heroes in the game due to its summon rate. Do not get rid of (transmit) these characters mentioned below because they are going to be very strong once they are promoted to 5 stars.

  • Lorina (Warrior) (Type: Dark) – She might not deal a lot of damage during the beginning of her turn. However, her Spiritual Armament skill which increases attack every time she attacks an enemy makes her very strong over time. Combine with her trademark skill, Resolve allows her to deal high amount of damage to a single target. Decent in both PvP and PvE.
ArenaConquest/StoryAbyssHuntOverall

  • Elson (Soul Weaver) (Type: Light) – One of the best 3-star healers+buffers in the game. His Meteor Shower skill is kinda OP because not only it deals AOE damage, it can also heal all your allies. His trademark skill, Light’s Protection grants both attack and defense buffs to your party. Overall, he is a must have for your party. Great for both PvP and PvE.
ArenaConquest/StoryAbyssHuntOverall
SSS+S+SS+
  • Church of llryos Ace (Warrior) (Type: Dark) – He is pretty decent against bosses due to his trademark skill, Plagued Strike which reduces the target’s defense for 2 turns. He can also deal AOE damage with this Attack Chain skill which grants him an extra turn if an enemy is defeated.
ArenaConquest/StoryAbyssHuntOverall
A+SS+A+S-
  • Carmainerose (Mage) (Type: Fire) – One of the few DPS mages that are very strong against bosses. She can lifesteal from her Vampirism skill and ‘steals’ speed from an enemy with her Vengeful Strike skill. Her trademark skill, Daze not only removes buffs to a single target, but she also grants both attack and defense buffs to herself. If you use her properly, she will cut through most of the bosses in the game.

You will be given a free covenant summon once per day so always take advantage of that. Once your summoning mileage is full, make sure to collect your free Gold transmit stone.

Artifacts

From the summons, you will also obtain artifacts. These artifacts not only boost your character’s stats, but they also have its own artifact skill. Some artifacts are class exclusive only. Which artifact to equip on is basically up to you but I would recommend equipping 4-5 star artifacts for all your characters.

Basic Strategies – Character placement

Once you have the characters you need, place them in a team slot. I recommend placing your knights and warriors at the front while your other classes place at the back. One thing to note that the character who is set as the team leader will mainly take damage from enemies. If you need more team slots, you can add an additional team slot by tapping the Add Team button which requires Gold.

Basic Strategies – Select your best supporter

Before doing any adventure stage, make sure to select a supporter with you. The benefit of this is that if one of your allies are defeated in battle, that supporter that you have chosen will take over as an ally. I would say select the highest level supporter and add them as a friend once you completed the stage so that you can use them in the future. Whenever a friend uses your character or when you use any supporter, you gain friendship points which can be exchanged for friendship bookmarks, energy or flags at the shop.

Basic Strategies – Think carefully before making a move

During any of your character’s turn, think carefully of what skill to use like when to buff your allies or which enemy to prioritize. You can tap and hold any of the skill to see the full description of what that skill does. If you look at the left side of the screen, you will see all your character icons together with the enemy icons. As you can see below, once Ras finished his turn, the next turn will be the enemy. You can tap on the hourglass icon and check whose turn is next (the unit that has the highest percentage will be their turn next).

But how about Auto mode? I would say use the Auto mode only for farming stages. For more difficult stages, it is better to turn off the Auto mode and play manually.

Basic Strategies – Exploration stages

This applies to exploration stages and the Labyrinth stages only. I advise exploring every single part of the map to unlock different stages and a gold chest. The gold chest will reward you with a high rarity gear which has better stats. You can tap the minimap at the top left side of the screen to check the whole map.

One thing to take note of is your team’s morale. Whenever you move to another waypoint or encounter a battle, your morale will decrease. If your morale is too low, all your party’s stats will decrease. If you are playing any of the Labyrinth stages, you can actually recover morale by camping (Tap the camp icon once you reach a waypoint).

Basic Strategies – Heal your team before a battle

There is a chance for your allies to get ‘injured’ if they take too much damage from enemies after a battle. Make sure to heal all your characters before moving on. Usually, the game will tell you to heal your team before a battle. You can also heal your teammates from the main menu (Main Menu->Heal).

Character enhancement/promotion and awakening

You can enhance your characters to increase their levels faster other than farming stages. I recommend using these penguins as enhancement materials since they give more EXP to your characters than other units. Once your character reaches max level, you can promote them to increase their grade by 1 and max level by 10. I recommend using these Mega-Phantasma units as promotional materials to promote your characters.

You can also awaken your character to increase their stats even further. You will need runes in order to awaken which can be obtained mainly by farming at the Spirit Altar stages (Main Menu->Battle->Spirit Altar). Take note that on weekends, all the Spirit Alter stages will be opened.

Character equipment

If your characters need better gear, I advise you to do the Hunt stages (Main Menu->Battle->Hunt). There is a chance the boss will drop rare-epic gear + gear materials that you can craft gear at the Steel Workshop. You can also enhance your character’s gear to increase their stats even further. I recommend using these weapon charms as enhancement materials since they give lots of EXP. Weapon charms can be obtained mainly from the Challenge stages (Main Menu->Battle->Challenge).

Transmission and The Sanctuary

This is where you can get rid of your unwanted heroes for Gold and transmit stones. I recommend transmitting your unwanted 3-star characters for transmit stones. These transmit stones can be exchanged at the ‘Transmit Stone’ Shop (Main Menu->Shop->Transmit Stone) for various items.

Always check out the Sanctuary to collect Gold and Skystones at the Heart of Orbis. There are also other features in the Sanctuary that you can use such as:

  • Forest of Souls – This is where you can summon different creatures using Stigma.
  • High Command – You can send your characters for various missions to obtain EXP and other items.
  • Steel Workshop – This is where you can craft new gear.

Guild and Arena

If you have not done so I would recommend joining a Guild as soon as possible. You will get to unlock Guild features in this game such as:

  • Guild Hall – This is where you can check-in daily for rewards
  • Aid – You can request or send different items to/from Guild members
  • Donate – You can donate Gold or Proof of Courage for Brave Crests
  • Member and captain shop – You can exchange Brave Crests for various items
  • Weekly missions – You can do these Guild missions weekly for various rewards

You can battle against other players at the Arena (Main Menu->Arena). The higher you climb in the rankings, the better rewards you will receive. Some characters are much stronger in the Arena so I suggest checking on those top ranking players on which characters they use (Total Ranking).

Daily Login rewards + Reputation

Even if you do not play this game often, I would suggest to at least log in every day for the daily rewards. Also, do the Reputation quests mainly the ‘Three Sisters’ Diary ones since these are daily + weekly quests. Completing a reputation quest rewards you with reputation points. Once you have enough reputation points, you can rank up your reputation for bonus effects. I recommend doing as many of these reputation quests as possible if you can for various rewards.

If you are new to this game, you can download this game on either IOS or Android.
