8. Learn Arabic

You’ll be surprised how much more you’ll get out of the local culture by learning a few words or taking a course in basic-level Arabic.

9. Take an abra ride or a dhow cruise

If you have an aesthetic art sense, then land at the Majlis art gallery. With a cluster of beautiful work of art from various renowned international artists clubbed together, the gallery is an ultimate experience for art lovers. Founded in 1989, it also accumulates pottery and other handcrafted items. The entry to the gallery is free and you can spend some splendid moments at the place.

16. Camel Racing

Exhibiting the culture and traditions of the UAE, the camel racing is organized every year between the months of September to April. It witnesses the relevance of this age-old traditional practice of the camel racing. The sport is taken in high regard and showcases highly trained camels from all over the Middle East. The admission is free for watching the race and is worth an experience.

17. Visit Mamzar Beach

21. Brush up on your history at Dubai Museum

66. Al Quoz Pond Park

This neighborhood park comes complete with batting cages and jogging track.

67. Burj Park

This green space, located on a man-made island amid the Burj Khalifa lakes, offers an escape from the bustle of Downtown. With the Burj towering above, the setting is magnificent, making this a great place to walk the dog or, surprisingly, to skateboard.

68. Creekside Park

This park features a long promenade overlooking the creek that’s perfect for walking and rollerblading. You can also ride the cable car.

69. Mushrif Park

A popular spot for families, who head here for picnics, barbecues, a ride on the boating lake and a trip to the bird sanctuary.

71. Safa 2 Park

Hidden away in suburban Al Safa 2, this is a downsized version of the giant Safa Park nearby – a hit with young families.
