SHIV founder joins ‘Deep Green’ faculty

Dhiraj K. Shah, Shah Hemp Inno-Ventures (SHIV), Nepal, has joined the permanent faculty of Deep Green Building, an ongoing hemp-lime construction course and building project based at HempToday Center in Poland.

Shah is the founder of SHIV, which sources hemp “wildcrop” – feral, reoccurring cannabis plants – from Nepalese locals for a growing range of applications and products in construction, health & beauty and textiles. SHIV also is developing technology for micro-processing and production of a wide range of hemp goods.

The inaugural session of Deep Green Building is set for Feb. 22-24, 2018 under the guidance of Wolf Jordan, Wolf Jordan & Co., Belgium; and Piotr Jastrębski, Podlaskie Konopie, Poland. Lectures will be presented mornings of the 3-day course while afternoons will be devoted to an interior construction and historic preservation project.

Shah joins a global roster of leading experts on the Deep Green Building permanent faculty including Steve Allin, International Hemp Building Association (IHBA); Monika Brummer, Cannabric, Spain; Pamela Bosch, Highland Hemp House, USA; John Patterson, Tiny Hemp Houses, USA; and Sergiy Kovalenkov, Hempire, Ukraine.

Jordan and Jastrębski will conduct the first-ever course in February during which participants will hear lectures and construct interior walls as part of a project to create student accommodations in the attic of The Palace at Nakło, an 18th century estate that serves as the home of HempToday.

Subsequent sessions will rotate in the other permanent faculty members in teams of 2-3 instructors.

Fifteen places remain open for the February event, which is limited to 25 participants. Delegates fromTurkey, USA, South Africa, Germany, Poland and Finland have already registered for the inaugural course.
