Hemp Road Trip will roll across Europe

With hemp industry ties growing between the USA and Europe, the U.S.-based Hemp Road Trip, a grass-roots initiative backing the industrial hemp industry, will roll across the continent this autumn, according to the campaign’s founder, Rick Trojan.

The Road Trip, initially started as an effort to help expand the U.S. hemp industry, has set an inaugural tour of Europe for this autumn, and is in the process of scheduling more visits, Trojan said.

Leading companies on both sides of the Atlantic say they see opportunities in closer tie-ups: U.S. firms cite a growing need for technology and knowhow from Europe’s more mature platers, while many small European startups, are hungry for funding to expand their operations. Sources on both sides also cite the need to jointly develop global standards and regulations for such sectors as the fast-growing CBD market, with Europeans making steady progress on these issues over the past couple years.

The European Hemp Road Trip will visit leading hemp companies, research organizations, farmers and producers, documenting the Euro hemp scene and highlighting the continent’s industry leaders. The campaign’s mini-bus will be on the road in Europe during September and October. Trojan will give an overview of the U.S. campaign, and present findings fresh from the European tour during the Hemp2020 Business Summit, now in its second year at HempTodayCenter, an industry center of excellence and education based in south-central Poland. The summit is Oct. 20-21.
