ITIF submitted comments to the U.S. Commerce Department recommending how to revise the government’s Current Population Survey (CPS) to give policymakers greater insight into the true economic impact of broadband deployment and access. ITIF proposed a series of changes to a CPS supplement covering computer and Internet use, including new questions to better understand people’s activities online and to distinguish their use of mobile broadband services from their use of fixed broadband.
