Fwd: If the worst should happen… swim to survive

Dear Friend,

Your support for the Usa Swimming Foundation is truly life-saving.
Let me tell you a story....

A year ago last August, Hurricane Harvey put a third of Houston under water, killing 88 people.

During the flood, Alma Jimenez and her daughters were forced to evacuate their home. Thankfully, the girls had been participating in a free learn-to-swim program offered by the Harris County Aquatics Program — a Make a Splash Local Partner in Houston.
As Isaura and Briana stepped into the waist-high waters, Alma reassured them: "Don't be afraid even though the water is moving fast. You know how to swim. If the worst should happen and we get separated, swim to survive. We will find each other again when it is safe."

Even though the family lost everything, Alma directly credits the Usa Swimming Foundation's Make a Splash initiative with helping her children survive.
I am blessed to regularly hear from parents and caregivers like Alma who tell me how swim lessons provided through Make a Splash saved children from drowning or drowning-related injuries.

There's no doubt in my mind…. More children are alive today because of people like you who support the USA Swimming Foundation.

Please help us expand this impact by making your most generous gift today.

Together we can share the joy of swimming with more children and families, prevent drowning tragedies, and save lives.
With gratitude,

P.S. As a parent, grandparent and lifelong swimmer, I'm asking you to join me in helping more children learn how to swim, regardless of their race, gender or financial circumstances. Your contribution provides crucial funding for our Make a Splash initiative and all of our programs that save lives and build champions—in the pool and in life.
