CNN Films – Without Warning by Cleo E. Brown

UNSEEN ENEMY, is a new CNN Documentary about the bacteria, insects, animals and diseases which kill humans each year world-wide.

I was in the hospital recently  for elective surgery . When I asked a nurse if I could take a shower, she ranted about all of the diseases to be found on the shower floor. Her words reminded me that I had lost my good friend on March 3rd, 2017 to bacterial meningitis in a hospital. No one had seen Irving’s death coming. I took a sponge bath and prayed for an end to infectious diseases.

Thus, UNSEEN ENEMY, is a new CNN Documentary about the bacteria, insects, animals and diseases which kill humans each year world-wide. Although discussing briefly the eradication of small pox, the documentary discusses in depth :Influenza, Ebola and Zika. Frightening in its impact because no cure has been found for these diseases, the film also offers solutions to prevent the social fabric of society from unraveling when Pandemics such as these manifest themselves. The outbreak and spread of HIV/AIDS and its Endemic affect on the world is also discussed.

Using aerial photography to dramatize over crowdedness in the world, UNSEEN ENEMY travels the world for real life examples of victims from those diseases. While Dr. Moses battles the devastation  of Ebola in Africa, a Zika mother with her infant are interviewed in Brazil. Parents in Minnesota discuss the random rapidity with which influenza killed their teenaged daughter. In addition to these interviews, there are discussions with healthcare professionals who have worked to eradicate the spread of the diseases world-wide.

UNSEEN ENEMY will air at 9:00pm Eastern-Time on April 7th, 2017 on CNN/US. It will be replayed at 12:00am Eastern-Time on CNN/US. Narrated by Jeffrey Wright and written and directed by Janet Tobias, the film was produced by Sonjay Gupta MD and philanthropist Paul G. Allen.

On a scale of one thru ten I rate UNSEEN ENEMY a 9+.
