BP, a broken system.

In the past couple weeks we have been hearing about BP's lack of urgency to plug the oil leak in the Gulf of Mexico. CNN has questioned many times how this could have happend and why BP was not prepared for such a disaster. Well, I can tell you why, it is because large corporations and the Government have not cared for the details as long as they were getting paid large sums of money, it is not until the problem becomes a public issue that they start to pay attention. It is clear that the government should have placed resitriction on the drilling since the start, no drilling should have been allowed without the introduction of safeguards and contingency plans in the case something like the current problem occurs again. So, what do we need to see from the Oil Companies, well, we need not only an emergency plan that would address imediate mobilazation from oil companies in case of an emergency, but a full proof and tested plan of repair and control. I am amazed they had never tested their systems in close to similar situations for any possible failures in any of their systems, and a plan of repair and control for any problem that may arise. A plan of control should be the first thing that any company should be requierd to introduce before being allowed to perform their operations. Today is a time in our history were we cannot play the stupid card and say "I did not know," we are beyond those times. I want to say something to BP " BP, stop your bull**** and get your act together, for the amount of money you are pulling in, you should be on top of everything and should have a Backup Plan for your backup plan."
