I have to admit I get a lot of my facts from the news (not Fox News), and I watch both John Stewart on The Daily Show and Stephen Colbert on the Colbert Report, but there are grains of truth in those shows, too.  Like the video about the 47% (47 percent) from Mitt Romney’s own lips.  Too bad there was someone there with a video recorder.  Too bad there is proof of his attitude.  I was offended.  I am in the 47%.  I have spent a whole life of hard work that started when I was 15.  And yet, I am in the 47 percent.  I have not been lazy, nor looking for a handout.  But I am on Social Security and finally have Medicare after years of paying for healthcare insurance, and sometimes being without insurance when times were tight.

This arrogant man has the gall to talk about the 47 percent when his own Father, George Romney was on welfare at one time in his life.  Yeah, that’s right.  On welfare.  How do I know that for sure?  On the daily show, they produced a black and white clip of Mitt’s Mother, Lenore, talking about how her husband was on welfare at one time, and what a great Country this was that someone could get a hand up from the Government when times were tight.  (See an article that talks about the video at http://bo.st/SaDYY8 , and see the video on youtube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_DgB3WASwXA ) What if Mitt’s Dad couldn’t have gotten welfare?  Could he have been forced to live outside, and eat out of dumpsters, and faced the vicissitudes of life, and maybe Mitt’s life might not have been the wonderful life he talks about.  What if the Republicans of today were running the government of yesterday?  Would we be talking about what an astute businessman Mitt is?  Or, would he just be another laborer somewhere because Dad didn’t get a “hand up” and a second chance when he needed it.

Think about that.

On another note, for being such a great businessman, why is Romney’s Presidential campaign in such disarray?  It gives one pause to think of how he’ll run the country!
