What would you say???

Tags: jesus wine

As I browse through my usual Social Networking sites I can't help but to notice a great deal of my "Christian" followers and friends being so critical and judgmental of each other over things like clothing, choice of music, hair styles, etc. WHAT IN THE WORLD ARE WE DOING??? This is definitely not spreading the good news. We spend so much time criticizing and advising each other on the things of Christ that we often forget to display the Love of Christ in our actions and our conversations.

Imagine this.... You sitting beside Jesus at the wedding in Cana. All of a sudden you hear his mother whisper to him that they are out of wine. Jesus asks for the jars of water and you, knowing that he is the Son of God, has already figured out what Jesus intends on doing. I can see with modern Christians today that some of us will try to talk Jesus out of it. I mean really.....turning water into wine is not going to heal any sick or raise anybody from the dead. It's turning water into a substance that can potentially be abused and cause someone to become intoxicated. I can imagine the conversation going something like this..."I don't think that's a good idea Jesus. What will people think? They might say that you are an alcoholic or something. These people will be alright without more wine, they can drink water. I just don't think it'll look good on your reputation if you did it that's all". Sounds crazy doesn't it. Well this same type of conversation goes on everyday over social media, in person and in our churches everyday. People who are comfortable with complaining and finding fault in the actions of others.

As Christians we take communion and drink a substance, usually grape juice, which is suppose to symbolize the wine they had at the Last Supper but i'm looked at funny if I buy a bottle of wine to have dinner with my wife. We need to get a grip and start being more like Jesus more so than trying to be more like what we "think" Jesus would want to "see" because in the end it becomes an imitation of the world. We just end up trying to please the complainer and not God which can lead to no one winning. So ask yourself, if you were at the wedding in Cana sitting beside Jesus and you heard the need....What would you say??? Just a thought.
