In the airwaves I hear the question "should the usa stop Immigration due to Unemployment rate"?
It seems like a sensible enough question. If Americans are having trouble finding jobs perhaps we can shift the blame to immigrants.
Well, apparently it just isn't that easy. According to studies form the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics the increase in the number of immigrants has actually corresponded with lower unemployment rates. Of course one can't conclude causality from correspondence, but it does go to show that the notion of U.S. workers being displaced by immigrants is only partially true (certainly it IS true for certain occupations just as the outsourcing phenomenon affects many white-collar jobs).
