Head for Libya, ISIS tells would-be recruits

The terror group Islamic State has told potential new foreign fighters to avoid Syria-Iraq and travel to Libya instead.

The advice is contained in two articles in its English magazine Rumiyah, which was released online today.

The introduction to the fourth issue says: “…whoever is unable to Perform Hijrah to Iraq and Sham, then he should perform hijrah to Libya, Khurasan, Yemen, Sinai, West Africa, or any of the other wilayat and outposts of the Khilafah in the East and the West.”

It includes a four-page interview with the head of ISIS in Libya, Abu Hudhayfah al-Muhajir, who says “the path was and continues to be open for whoever wants hijrah”.

The focus on Libya will be seen as an admission that the group is under intense military pressure in Syria and Iraq.

The magazine also apparently alludes to sustaining heavy casualties in a piece entitled: “Marrying Widows is an Established Sunnah”.

Elsewhere, the it carries the text of the first statement by its new official spokesman Abu Hassan al-Muhajir, who calls on supporters to mount attacks in Turkey and the West.

Another is called “Military and Covert Operations” and consists of a summary of its activity in Syria, Iraq and worldwide.

It contains a claim of responsibility for the recent attacks at Ohio State University in the USA and a subsequent article repeats a previous call to attack people with knives.
