In Indian market we have lot of Selfie centric Phone available through online as well as offline stores. Today we will talk about one of those selfie centric phone from Asus, i.e. Asus Zenfone 4 Selfie Pro. Main highlight of this phone is dual camera for selfie along with LED flash. Phone is priced INR 23999, and available on Flipkart. Phone is available in Black, Gold and red colors.

As this is a selfie phone, so we will talk about front facing camera first. It features dual camera on front side for selfie. It features a 24 MP duo pixel main selfie camera with ƒ/1.8 aperture, 1.4µm pixel size and Sony IMX362 image sensor. There a secondary camera on front i.e. 5 MP with f/2.2 aperture and 120 degree wide angle. This camera also features SuperPixel Engine enabling the 2 times light to enter through shutter of camera, which helps in getting a better selfie. Selfie pictures clicked in low light and day light are very good. This selfie camera is focused to give you a wide angle of 120 degree. You will also get portrait mode i.e. bokeh effect in selfies. It comes with dedicated app for selfie (selfie master), where you can adjust the beauty scale to make your selfie look better. 

Coming to the Primary camera of the phone (back camera), It features 16 MP camera at back panel with Sony® image sensor, f/2.2 aperture. It also comes with super resolution mode just like other Asus phones. I clicked lot of images and found that images with camera are very good in day light. Low light photography is also very good. It comes with red eye reduction in photos, which i loved most about this phone. Colors of images clicked with Zenfone 4 Selfie  Pro are natural, i.e. images looks similar to the original object. You will get Bokeh effect in rear camera as well. Here we have few images samples of back camera and selfie camera.

Zenfone Selfie pro is powered by QUALCOMM's Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor, which is clocked at 2.0 GHz. This unit is supported by 4 GB RAM & 64 GB internal storage. This storage is expandable up to 2 TB via SD card (uses Hybrid SIM slot). Hardware used in this phone is very good to perform the different tasks. You can play high end games without any lag. You can do multi-tasking easily as RAM management on this phone is also very good.

Phone is running on Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box along with ZenUI 4.0. Asus says that phone will get Android 8.0 Oreo very soon. Asus claims that they have reduced number of third party apps and Zen apps in the latest ZenUI to improve the performance, i will appreciate this step of Asus.. Now OS comes with only 3 pre-installed third party apps i.e. Facebook, Instagram and Whatsapp. We can consider this hardware perfect for normal uses but we can’t consider it to be a flagship hardware for power users as per price.

It sports a 5.5 inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080x1920 pixels, i.e. FHD display. Display has 500 nits brightness for outdoor, hence it is clearly visible in outdoor lightening. This display also features 2.5D curved corning gorilla glass 5 on it for protection. This smartphone is quite slim as thickness in only 6.85 mm. Phone is also light in weight i.e. 147 grams only. This phone has premium metal design. It has large bezels on top and bottom due to which screen to body ratio is 76.7%. Design and display of the phone is very good and considerable.

Talking about connectivity phone comes with 4G VoLTE connectivity, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, and Bluetooth 4.1, Micro-USB 2.0, GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS, BDSS etc. It houses fingerprint scanner placed over home button. Phone is backed by 3000 mAh non removable battery and supports fast charging. Audio output through speaker is also very good as it comes with 5-magnet speaker with NXP Smart Amp.

All the specifications of this phone are considerable at this price point, i.e. Selfie camera, rear camera, Display and Design, but Processor is not considerable. We can say if Snapdragon 660 was there than phone could beat other smartphones at this price segment. Phone is little bit high priced for power users. If you are looking forward to buy a phone for purpose of selfie or camera, than go for it as wide angle (120 degree), Bokeh effect and quality of selfie picture of this selfie centric phone is too good.
