Motorola’s flagship Moto X got an upgrade today as the 2nd generation of the device was announced today in India. The new Moto X will be available by the end of this month. With Moto Maker, one can customize the back panel designs of the Moto X and can even get it made in bamboo wood or leather.
Specifications wise, the Moto X (2nd Generation) features a 5.2-inch Full HD (1920×1080 pixels) Gorilla Glass 3 protected AMOLED display having a pixel density of 424 ppi. The device has a main unit of 13-megapixel camera with dual-LED flash and it can also record videos at 4K resolutions. Additionally, it also has a 2-megapixel front facing snapper.
Moto X is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor which is set at 2.5 GHz with Adreno 330 to back the graphics processing. This is further paired with 2 GB RAM and an internal memory of 16/32 GB which is non-expandable.
The device runs on Android 4.4.4 KitKat which has several Motorola-exclusive enhancements such as the voice commands, handy gesture trails which are the result of the inbuilt IR sensor. This new Moto X will be getting an update to the Android L as soon as it is made available.
Moto X (2nd generation) will draw its juice from the non-removable 2300 mAh Li-Ion battery.
