Is it too early to talk Christmas? NO. Christmas is brilliant for plenty of reasons. Getting sloshed is great and we’re a sucker for the Strictly Christmas Special. But if food isn’t right at the top of your list, you’re probably doing it wrong. And there’s extra reason to get excited for Xmas 2018 and that’s because our now favourite budget supermarket Aldi have announced that they’re releasing foot-long (yes, FOOT-LONG) pigs-in-blankets!

Yes, costing £2.99 for a pack of two, the 12-inch sausages are wrapped in streaky bacon and are said to be ‘perfect for sharing’… yeah, right. According to Hotukdeals, Aldi will also be selling a trio of pigs in blankets, which will see a stack of three cocktail sausages cuddled up in a bacon blanket.

It’s not the first time Aldi have got us stupidly excited over something so menial either. During the summer, they unveiled halloumi slices especially designed to fit on top of your burger. It was so genius, we’ve no idea how it took so long for someone to come up with it. But big pig wrapped in big pig might just be better.

Sure, it’s almost certainly too early to be getting this hyped about a sausage which won’t be released for another two months yet. But it’s always good to have something to look forward to when the weather turns and summer is officially over, right?

The Aldi XL pigs will be going on sale on 6th December as part of their Christmas range.
