Find Your Phone; UK Alexa Skill

So I have found another genuinely useful Amazon Echo / Alexa skill in the UK and I thought I’d share it with you.

You know the story, you’re about to leave the house, you’ve got your keys and wallet…but where the hell is your phone? You search, you ask someone else to call it… but it’s on silent. You end up late or phoneless until it turns up in some ridiculous place that you couldn’t possibly have put it.

Well, fear not, Alexa is here to save the day with the TrackR find my phone skill. (By the way, I’ve found it’s pronounced “tracker”).

Like all the best skills, it’s simple. I just ask “Alexa, ask tracker to call my phone” and the phone rings on full volume. It was really easy to set up too, just click here to create a free account with just your name, email and a password and you’re basically away. I had to ask Alexa for a pin “Alexa, start tracker” and then “Alexa, what’s my pin?”.

Apparently it can also tell you the last location of your phone if it’s not within bluetooth range of Alexa devices, which could be handy if you’re young and have a life; unlike me.

Let me know how you get on with this, but I think it’s one of the most useful skills that I’ve seen for Alexa and I’m certainly going to be using this one.
