Although significantly smaller than a DSLR, the X-T3 is relatively large for a non-mirrored APS-C camera. It’s a bit heavier than its predecessor in 539g, and 10mm wider as well.

This is not necessarily a bad thing-its gorgeous built, magnesium alloy body feels solid rock in hand and well balanced with most lenses. Camera size is a personal thing, but if you are looking for DSLR-style driving without the majority, then I would say that the X-T3 is right at the Sweet spot. Her little brother, the Fujifilm X-T20, or Sony A6500 are always options if you want a little more travel size.

What really sets the X-T cameras apart from their unmirrored rivals are their analogue dials. This gives you a fun, tactile shooting experience that is also very customizable. Most buttons can be reconfigured to perform any operation from the focus control to the ISO edit. A particularly practical option is to be able to add ISO to the front quadrant, which means you can touch it without having to remove the eye from the viewfinder.

Eagle eyes will notice some physical settings of the X-T2. The X-T3 viewfinder is slightly more prominent for a little more “nose separation”, its rear buttons are now a bit larger, and the thumb grip is a bit thick to help maintain balance. The main dials (ISO, shutter speed and exposure compensation) are also a bit larger and easier to rotate.

However, the biggest external update for the Fujifilm X-T3 is its viewfinder. Now you will get the same viewfinder as that of the expensive Fujifilm X-H1, which means a net resolution of 3,690,000 points with a 60fps upgrade rate (or 100fps in ‘ boost Mode ‘).

Interestingly, the magnification of 0.75 x of the viewfinder means that it is fractional smaller than that of its predecessor, but much more notable for me was that the resolution of impulses. It is a joy to shoot with and more than enough for any nervous person to take the leap from the optical viewfinder of a DSLR.

Externally, the Fujifilm X-T3 is only a slight improvement in its predecessor. But open it up and you’ll find out why it’s one of the best mirrors without mirror yet.

In your heart are a new ‘ backlit ‘ 26.1 megapixel X-Trans CMOS 4 sensor and an X 4 chip Processor. Together, these bring a lot of upgrades, with the three biggest are auto focus, Blast shot and video performance.

First, that automatic approach. With ‘ Phase sensing pixel ‘ now spread across the sensor and a total of 425 autofocus points, the Fujifilm X-T3 can monitor moving subjects around a scene and keep them on fire much more reliable than before. In comparison, this is the same number of auto focus points as Sony’s A6500 and significantly more of a DSLR like the Nikon D500, with the AF X-T3 points also covering more of the chassis than both.

That the new processor feeds some other auto-focus enhancements too–there’s much better face and eye detection, autofocus now works in lower light up-3ev (roughly equivalent to a moonlit night scene), and Fujifilm Recognizes that X-T3 is now one and a half times faster in blocking problems.

You can shoot 4k in 60fps with 10 bits of color depth, which puts you there with the Panasonic GH5, as well as 1080p in a 120fps SLO-MO. Because it is compatible with the efficient compression format H. 265, the X-T3 can also record 60fps footage in 200mbps. Shoot at 30 fps, which will use the sensor set (instead of a crop 1.18 X) and climb to a very high quality 400mbps bit-rate.

Other settings help make it a very versatile little camcorder. All of Fujifilm’s classic “film Simulation” modes, which replicate their analogue ancestors, are available for video, while face and eye detection also works here.

Manually, you can also have separate settings for things like exposure and sharpening stored for both stills and video, which helps pass between the two. The only real limitation is that it is still limited to 30 minutes of recording from 4k to 30fps, or 20 minutes to 60fps.

The new wave of mirror-Free Frame cameras led by the likes of Nikon Z7 may have monopolized recent headlines, but the impressive Fujifilm X-T3 is a strong reminder that the smallest and most affordable APS-C cameras are a fantastic choice For amateurs and Pro snapper buffs.

With its many enhancements in autofocus, Burst Shooting and video, the Fujifilm X-T3 is now more than a mini X-H1 ‘ of a larger X-T20 ‘. In fact, apart from the expensive full-frame cameras like the Sony A7 III and says Sony A7000, the Fujifilm X-H1 is probably the closest opponent of this camera. Its main advantage is the stabilization of the image in the body (useful for the grip of the hand, especially in low light), although it is also a bit of thickness right.

When considering the price, size, lens options and performance (both in stills and video), it’s hard to find flaws in the Fujifilm X-T3 as versatile. It combines the excellent film simulations of Fujifilm and the performance of JPEG out of the camera with 4k video capability that put him in the stadium of rivals like the Panasonic GH5. At £1,349, it is a strong competitor for mirror-Free rivals like Sony A6500, and a terrifying prospect for aging DSLR like Nikon D500.

The only disarie are that the lack of built-in image stabilization and mediocre battery life. However, bids are unlikely to break when taking into account the strengths such as their rapid auto-focus, classic design and wide range of lenses (many of which have stabilization).
