Apple’s September 2018 Keynote: What’s New?

Apple’s September 2018 Keynote: What’s New?

Apple is gearing up for the holiday buying season with the announcement of the brand new Iphone XR and the iPhone XS at their keynote speech on September 12, 2018. These newly announced models are feature-rich and loaded with classic Apple elegance and style. Read on to learn more about all the fresh and innovative features that these models will offer.

iPhone XS and XS Max

The iPhone XS and XS Max promise to deliver high-quality graphics, superior sound, and the ability to house two SIM cards, which is great for consumers who need to switch between two devices, either for work or for international travel. The two new models come with Apple’s innovative A12 bionic chip, will help Face ID and games load even faster. With the use of the new chip, these phones are quick and powerful, and you don’t have to worry about compromising other features.

The screen on the XS model clocks in at 5.8 inches diagonal, while the XS Max is the biggest iPhone yet at 6.5 inches. The huge phone is sleek and beautiful, with a focus on design and functionality, as you’ve come to expect from Apple products. A 12 megapixel camera shines brightly on the new models, and an innovative feature called Smart HDR shoots a constant four-frame buffer when the camera is open, which makes for no lag. When you take a shot, each image is taken at different exposures. The different frames are then spliced together to produce the best possible photo.

As expected, though, the iPhone XS Max also comes with an extra large price tag, with models starting at $1,099, while the iPhone XS starts at starts at $999. The top-tier model, an XS Max with 512 GB of storage will run you $1,449. However, Apple’s dedicated fan bases promises to make this model just as popular as others, despite the high retail cost.

iPhone XR: More Bang For Your Buck.

Apple spent much of their keynote talking about the new and exclusive features on the iPhone XS and XS Max. But then they introduced the iPhone XR and revealed that it not only has many of the same features, but it also is markedly cheaper, which may make it an even more crowd-pleasing choice.

The only real differences between the XR model and the XS models is the Liquid Retina LCD display, the lack of 3D Touch and the single camera lens on the back side of the phone. Many people may be wondering why they’d shell out the extra dollars for the XS model when the XR model offers many of the same features at a lower cost. The XR model comes in six different color options, so you’re sure to find one that matches your aesthetic. The more affordable XR will retail at $749 and will start shipping in October.

Should You Buy The New iPhone?

If you’re a lifelong Apple addict, there’s no doubt that you want one of the new models in your hand as soon as possible, but if you’re just a casual fan, you may be wondering if the price tag is worth it. There’s no doubt that the new models are packed with upgrades, making them extremely attractive to tech-savvy consumers, but spending hundreds on a new iPhone may not fit nicely into your budget.

If you’re looking for a way to make the new iPhones more friendly on your wallet, consider trading in one of your older iPhone models. Gadget Fix will happily buy back used iPhones for cash, which you can put towards the purchase of a newer model.
