Ivy's been begging me for months. I finally relented. As of today she is officially taking riding lessons. She curried and combed. A sweet white pony named Georgia stood still and quiet. I watched Ivy's eyes glow as she rode around the ring. I could see excitement, hesitation, awe, and joy all at once. Today was one of those days where I was present. Where I saw, felt, and heard every moment and savored them all. A meeting, Errands, a quick nap to help me heal from my cold. It was a day when I saw how lucky I am in each laugh, every tree, and all the people that are in my life.

I was sick this weekend and Noel was there to take care of me. I coughed so hard I cried out in pain after each bout. I thought for sure I'd be down for a week. Instead, I rested. For two days. Someone else stepped in to do the dishes, the dinner, and the endless kid-related errands. Then, I got better. Just like that. I remember so many years, working, cleaning, caring for everyone else while I was sick and tired myself. I rarely got sick, but when I did I had to just work through it. I couldn't take a break and watch romantic comedies and rest for 48 hours.

Life is good.
