Dobby has been enjoying all of the Blue Dog Bakery treats that we received. He does enjoy the biscuits, but I have a suspicion that his favorite are the Beef Sticks and Chicken Sticks. He knows as soon as he sees the resealable packges that a moist, tender, chewy treat is just moments away. And the sticks last a little longer and he gets to chew a little more. It’s easy to see with all of the treats that he finds them to be tasty because he becomes very attentive and doesn’t dawdle in gobbling them up.

The FDA recommends that treats be kept in a cool and dry place that’s less than 80 degrees, since excess heat and/or moisture can cause nutrients to breakdown and encourage spoiling. It’s usually best to store dog treats in their original packaging, just in case you need information from it in case of a product recall. Dog treats should be kept in an air-tight container, which will help keep treats fresh while helping protect them against harmful bacteria that causes them to spoil. I keep resealable packages in an airtight container as well, just in case the seal doesn’t close properly. Another benefit of keeping dog treats in an airtight container is that your dog won’t get into them and eat them all at once.
