Twenty years ago the original Full House TV series began. Are you old enough to remember the 1990’s? If so, you probably have fond memories of the original Full House series from TV. I was a young mom with 5 kids, with my youngest being born in 1999. My husband and I had cut cable when our oldest (now 30! ) was born. So, while I think I saw an episode or two of Full House when I was visiting others, I never knew the storyline or had any emotional ties to it. I think my main interest was the cute Olsen twins that played the youngest child!

Unfortunately, the first part of the first season of Fuller House is compiled of memories, jokes, manners of speech and other ties to the old series. It makes sense, for returning viewers, but I felt it could have done a better job of holding the interest of new viewers. There were also frequent digs at the Olsen twins, apparently a result of them not agreeing to return to this series! This came across as juvenile and a bit too much, like the writers and producers were airing dirty laundry.

The rest of season 1 was entertaining and mostly family friendly. I am a tough critic of and very aware of any hint of crudity or inappropriate content in what we watch. Most people would think this is completely family friendly, I did cringe at times. We all have our own standards of what we deem family friendly, and since we have not had TV in the house for 30 years (gasp!) my tolerance is probably much different than yours!

The episodes seemed to get better as they went on and season 2 will probably be great as they have already worked out their kinks and angst against the Olsens!

I do think if I was a former Full House fan, I may have enjoyed it a bit more, but it was a fun and entertaining season, especially after the first episode.
