Mindful Resource Center (MRC), a Pediatric Mental Health and Wellness Center in Corte Madera, offers "Confidence + Coping" Skills-based Camp, a one-of-a-kind opportunity for kids and teens this summer. Run by "campy" therapists, campers are supported in all things Social-Emotional Learning and Development (SEL), those 21st-century "soft skills" like growing empathy, perspective-taking, self-esteem, adaptability, and friendship. Using fun arts and crafts, games, and science and nature activities, such as slime-making, pizza-making, rock-painting, and balloon-chasing, campers leave camp each day having learned lessons that build resilience for life.

Some kids need a therapeutic camp like "Confidence + Coping" Skills-based Camp due to shyness or getting too stressed in large groups with people they don’t know, or because they need a nurturing, intimate experience to get the most out of camp. Whatever the child’s needs, Mindful Resource Center's comprehensive enrollment process makes sure that the campers will get along, learn from each other, and have the most fun. Camps attract kind-hearted campers with devoted families looking to offer their child or teen that extra therapeutic value so that they not only have fun at camp, but they feel empowered, have a transformative experience, and wrap-up camp with a "coping tool kit" they can bring to everything else they do in life.

Camp curriculum is based on Mindful Resource Center's After-school Clubs, rooted in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness. With playful activities that simply feel engaging, kids/teens learn thought, emotional, behavioral and relationship management skills with relatable therapists "counselors" who support any need that arises.

Camp costs $1,100 per session, which includes one week of camp, materials, and snacks. Get $200 off with early bird registration by March 1, 2018. Sessions take place between June 18 and August 9, 2018. Camp groupings are based not only on age or grade but also developmental level. Youth with autism spectrum disorder are not candidates for camp at this time.
