My Week In Pictures 13/17

My week started with a short train journey to Starcross. From here Steve and I walked to Cockwood, a small village about a 20 minute walk from the station. Located here is a pub called The Anchor that specialises in seafood with mussels being a highlight. Served in about 20 different ways!

Steve opted for a seafood thermadore and I had mussels served with a crab and tomato sauce. To Follow that we shared a deliciously decadent sticky toffee pudding.

Tuesday was a busy day. My first engagement was at Reiss in Princesshay. I had an appointment with Helena to experience a taste of their “Personal Approach” campaign. For a full review click here.

Thank you to Reiss and Matt Austin for images.

From here I walked the short distance across Princesshay to Berloni UK. The newest Kitchen Showroom in Exeter. I popped in to see Karin (the owner) for a coffee and a chat to see what the kitchen showroom had to offer. It was also a chance to get to know her as it turns out that I teach her daughter ballet! It’s such a small world. I look forward to working a little more closely with Karin in the future so watch this space!

After an afternoon of recipe testing it was then time for “date night”. I had reserved a table at Rabbit for their “Step Into Spring” supper. Rabbit is Exeter’s only fully vegan cafe and this was a new thing for them. Both Steve and I had a wonderful evening and enjoyed the simple, seasonal menu. It was great that they offered a BYO bottle option with free corkage so we took along a bottle of Sharpham Vineyard red to enjoy alongside our vegan feast. I can’t wait for the next event. Give Rabbit a follow on Facebook for more up to date news.

On Thursday night I headed off to Lorna Ruby for my second fashion event of the week. This time I was involved by way of making deliciously delicate rose and raspberry jam tarts to go alongside champagne for the guests.

My gorgeous and talented friend Gemma from Cabinet Jewellery was showcasing her new collection. I adore her Jewellery and those of you that follow me on Instagram stories will get regular updates on “Today’s Jewels”. More often than not it involves something that Gemma has crafted.

On Friday I met up with my friend Carmen after work for a walk. We headed down to Exmouth for some fresh air. It was great to catch up and we even managed to squeeze in a trip to Rockfish for a bowl of mussels.

So there you have it…My Week In Pictures. I hope you have enjoyed peaking behind the scenes of what I have been up to this week. At the moment next week is looking pretty quiet but I think I need weeks like that to reset.

Keep checking out my Instagram and Twitter accounts for more up to date fun. Enjoy your week everyone.
