Facts about Working Out In the Evening
When is the best time to work out, Morning or evening? Since this is quite a dilemma to many who wish to get fit, let’s weigh the facts about working out in the Evening and see  if they measure up to fitness goals. Just because you are not an early morning riser doesn’t mean that you have to ditch your work out routines. Here are facts that prove that evening work outs are also great for your health as well as waistline!

Helps in Fast Toning Up

Research puts the peak of muscle strength, endurance and function in the evening due to fluctuating hormones. The decrease of cortisol in the P.M helps to make workouts more effective allow you to tone up more easily and faster. Since body temperatures determine the quality of a work out working out when your body is warm allows you to avoid stiff muscles, susceptibility to injuries such as sprains. Body temperature increases as the day goes on hence the muscle reaction rate is faster enabling you to feel more rested and flexible afterwards.

Harder and Better Work outs
Because you don’t dread being late work, evening work outs tend to be up to 20 percent longer and of higher intensity according to research. This makes the results kick in harder.

Higher Level of Fitness

According to scientists, working out in the evening can yield a higher fitness level due to better body metabolism. Indeed, a study carried out by scientists in the Clinical Research Center, University of Chicago, where 40 men in good health and divided into five groups where one did not exercise at all and the other four exercised at different times; morning, evening, afternoon or night, nighttime and evening exercisers had less glucose levels and more cortisol and thyrotrophin.

Sleep More Soundly
While most people tend to believe that working out in the evening brings about Sleep disruptions, Swiss studies show that as long as you go to sleep  approximately 90 minutes after exercising, your sleep will be deeper and more restorative allowing you to enjoy quality sleep without the thought of an early rise to a morning workout.

It improves the mood immensely

Exercising in the evening after a stressful day can help you get rid of all the frustration and stresses picked up during the day. This is because taking your day out on the routines will release endorphins and help you have a better sleep, more cheerful night and a calmer morning. Unwinding and blowing off steam using exercise lets go of stress in a better way than using television. Besides, you can do both as they after all are not mutually exclusive.

However, scheduling work outs in the evening tends to be harder than the morning as you may feel exhausted at the end of the day and give it up as a lost cause. There are also more distractions to evening routines. Choosing an evening routine is a great option as long as you stick to it as much as possible.
