Ace designer Rohit Bal opened the India Couture Week 2017 show at Bikaner House in New Delhi tonight.
The decadent collection called ‘Khush Posh’ had actor Arjun Rampal walk down the runway as his showstopper. Bal had earlier commented about his collection, ““The collection is an ode to lost craft and tradition. A journey from the past to the present with a gentle nudge of contemporary influences.”
True to his signature style Rohit Bal’s latest bridal luxury collection was all about opulence and intricacies. Using rich colours like ivory white, midnight blue, black, dark oxblood red with subtle handiwork and rich surface work, the designer showcased the best for the season.
It was all about reviving heritage pieces from the costume collections of royal Mughals. Last year the auteur had taken inspiration from the royals of Russia juxtaposing it with Kashmiri karigari, and the designs were on the runway at Bikaner House then too.
Arjun Rampal looked dapper in a black bandgala as did Fashion Design Council of India President in a white counterpart with Jodhpur Pants.
