Chandelier – These pristine and graceful beauties are always in demand. Encrusted with precious gems and diamonds, these dangler earrings have been a hit on the red carpet as well as on the ramp. Chandelier earrings add an element of drama with their shoulder tracing lengths. They can be worn with gowns and dresses in formal events, as they add length and grace to the neck. Chandeliers are huge attention grabbers, don’t mix them with an elaborate necklace – keep your neckline clean so the focus is only on your earrings.
Jhumkas – Jhumkas or jhumkis come in various shapes like circular, conical and dome. The conical bell-shaped earring is completed with a string of ghungroos – these Indian beauties are old school yet in vogue. Jhumkas have been an integral ornament of every Indian woman’s jewellery collection. Hoops with monograms, quirky slogans and emojis are very much in trend, giving the designers the freedom to interpret the category through their unique aesthetic lenses. Ear cuffs – Ear Cuffs are shaping up to be the ultimate statement pieces for spring-summer 2017. One of the most redefining trends in fine jewellery is the evolution of ear wear. No longer restricted to drops or studs, jewellery designers have been devising increasingly creative ways to redesign ear cuffs. There are different styles of ear cuffs available today – some hook over the top of the ear, using its natural curve, while others have a fastening at the lobe for extra security that holds it in position in the same way as a traditional earring. There’s nothing subtle about this season’s larger than life earrings – shoulder dusters are here to dazzle and sway along your dainty neckline. As hems migrate up and down across the seasons, so do earrings, and the consensus at the latest set of shows was clear – the danglier the better. Before the summer is over, be sure to don a pair of these chic duster earrings with your off-shoulder top or dress.
Single earring – The one-earring trend has been evolving for a few seasons now, but for spring-summer 2017, it has been all over the runway. Rather than sporting the traditional two, designers have lightened the accessory load with just one – a single well-dressed ear.
