Having a teenager can be pretty scary at times. My oldest is a sophomore and I am constantly talking to her about drinking and Drugs and all those things that are terrifying for a parent but so prevalent in the high school years. I’m hoping that by keeping us talking she’ll feel confident enough to come to me if she ever has questions or even if she just needs a safe ride home.
We hope our kids listen to us and use good judgement when it comes to peer pressure but we know how hard it can be to be a teen and deal with all those outside influences.
It seems to me kids are drinking so much younger than when I was in high school, and drugs are so much more common as well. I always wonder where kids are getting these drugs and the alcohol, and how is it so easy for them?
While it may seem like the plot of a television show or movie, this scenario is happening in real life.
Parents at one school in San Diego may now have the answer to where the drugs are coming from now that a parent has been charged with 37 counts, including 10 charges of employing a minor to sell or carry marijuana, and 16 counts of furnishing marijuana to a minor over the age of 14.
