Spring/Summer Style Guide: 2017

Summer is round the corner once again so we must ditch our beloved heavy woolen, black and navy suits and don something a bit more appropriate for the hotter months ahead. Don’t know where to start? Zebel Bespoke are here to guide you through this summer’s trends and keep you feeling fresh in the heat.

Ditch those dark tones for pastels and more neutral colours. Pastel blue has made a big leap this year so far and has come out as a front runner for the most popular colour of the Summer. The lighter tones will not only keep you looking sharp and on trend but also keep you cooler in the sun. Pair these tones with a floral shirt or tie and pocket square and you’ll be right on trend with this summer’s style.

If pastel tones aren’t your thing well you’re in luck. Style experts have predicted greens, burgundies and browns to also be a key player in this summer’s fashion. Pairing a green/burgundy jacket with a nice fitted pair of cropped chinos will give a sophisticated, clean cut but casual look. . If you insist on going for a darker palette then go for a patterned Fabric. This is a great way to wear darker fabric but keep it seasonally appropriate. Again floral shirts and accessories can really break up the heavier colours and give you’re outfit a breath of fresh air.

As for material we suggest going for lighter fabrics such as linen, seersucker or cotton. The only the major downside to these materials is the fabric tends to crease more easily but that’s all part of the casual summer look. Wool is still an option but you’ll want to go for much lighter wool (like a super 130) than you usually would.
For added comfort and cooling, consider a buggy lining in your jacket. A buggy lining means the lining stops midway down your back allowing the fabric to breathe much more comfortably at the bottom.

Trousers this year are going to be cropped, tapered and casual. Don’t be afraid to show some ankle. A pair of trousers cut just above the ankle paired with a pair of suede loafers or double monkstraps are going to be absolutely the way to go. Keep those legs tapered however as too much material flapping around can ruin the look and make a short trouser look more like an accident than a fashion statement.

Follow these tips and you’re guaranteed to look fresh and sophisticated this summer. Remember; Pastel with floral accents, light fabric, keep those trousers Cropped Tapered and casual.
