What is Diet in a Box?

Winner of Best of Cebu 2016, Diet in a Box offers healthy organic meals in Cebu, Philippines. Its Filipino owners, Bibo Moreno and Chime Bosabel were even featured in one of Sunstar’s regular publications. Bibo is a chef and also an entrepreneur while Chime was a specialist in one of those BPO companies. Both share a love for everything organic and would have nothing but organic food every weekend at Aloguinsan, Bibo’s hometown.

Diet in a Box sources all food ingredients from either Bibo’s mini farm or the community farm project in Aloguinsan, his hometown. Some organic suppliers are in Talamban and Balamban. Thinking about how the business started, Bibo’s friends, including Chime would come for a visit and enjoy great tasting food prepared jointly by Bibo and his mom. Instagram shots of those food meals circulated and aroused interest and a following. This got Bibo and Chime started in the business of bringing dishes to Cebu first to sample to friends then eventually to a lot of the locals in the area. Now, the online store exists as Diet in A Box. It has been running since March 2015.

Bibo takes charge of kitchen management and four cooks run daily duties under him. Bibo personally plans Diet in a Box weekly menus and is hands-on when it comes to harvesting ingredients and making selections. He plans down to calorie counts, which he finds most tedious among the tasks he takes responsibility for. Service is highly personalized. Bibo tailors meal plans according each client’s BMI (Body Mass Index) and formulates the best calorie+meal plan accordingly.

Chime is in charge of their deployment team, with five delivery men under him. He also takes charge of marketing, sourcing and customer relations. He is also assigned to calculate each client’s body mass index (BMI) to figure out what required calorie intake is fit for them.

Weekly Plans cover 5 days and your Menu Choices are:

• Supreme Menus include Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner +fruit snacks in-between. 1,200 calorie meals are at P2,000 while 1,500 and 1,800 calorie meals are at P2,500.
• Combo A Menus include Breakfast, Lunch, 1 Snack. For 800 calories, you pay P1,350 while 1,000 calories are at P1,500. A 1,200 calorie plan costs P1,700.
• Combo B Menus include Lunch, Dinner, 1 Snack. Prices are the same as Combo A Menus.
• Lean Machine Diet Plan menu costs:

Option A- Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner + 2 fruit snacks – P3,350

Option B- Breakfast, Lunch, +1 snack- P2,600

Option C- Lunch, Dinner, + 1 snack- P2,600

Diet in a Box Order

Diet in a Box draws up a very personalized meal plan per customer so don’t be surprised when you get asked about your exact age, height, and weight. Food allergies should also be declared and also your typical physical activity in a week. Let them know if you plan to lose weight, gain weight, or maintain your current weight.

Diet in a Box Delivery

Diet in a Box asks for your preferred time window of delivery. Specify the hour when you place your order. Make sure to include helpful landmarks when you give your delivery address. Request for modifications should be given at least 24 hours ahead of original delivery date. Make reservations days in advance. There is also a cut-off time of 3:00 P.M. (Saturdays). Bookings made after cut-off will automatically be scheduled the following week.

Remember to put your meals in the fridge. Since the food is purely organic and all-natural, meals may spoil if kept at room temperature for a long time. Preservative free foods may taste differently by 2 hours of table temp. Fridge it and reheat during meal time.

Diet in a Box collects advanced payments and only accepts cash, given upon delivery. Pay for the full package price on the first day of delivery each week.
