NeoGraft: The Utah Hair MD Difference

With many available options for Hair transplant surgery, with and without NeoGraft, we pride ourselves on the Utah Hair MD difference that we feel set our facility apart from other hair transplant surgery practices here in Utah.

1. Credentials & Experience

Dr. Scott Thompson is a dual certified facial plastic surgeon who has spent over 15 years working solely on the face, neck and scalp only. He is well trained and experienced in how the skin heals, how to provide a natural result, and the pre and post operative recommendations that will aide in the final outcome. He also has a low rate of staff turnover with experienced medical assistants, patient care coordinators, and technicians that help make the process run as smooth as possible.

Dr. Thompson is fellowship trained in hair transplant surgery from Dr. Vito Quatela, who at the time was the president of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.

2. NeoGraft, FUT & PRP Hair Therapy Options

Here at Utah Hair MD, we evaluate each patient concerned with hair loss and determine together which treatment plan will best fit their needs. By offering a variety of treatment options for hair and not just NeoGraft or FUT, we can provide options and sometimes combine therapies for the best potential outcome. Dr. Thompson is highly knowledgeable in all three options and feels it’s important to be highly qualified and experienced with each one of them to be considered a hair restoration specialist today.

3. Hands-On Care

Many hair transplant facilities in Utah utilize the same technicians locally that assist with the procedure. They are trained and experienced in the manual aspects of treatment, such as graft extraction and preparation. Dr. Thompson is highly involved in overseeing the process, creating the overall design, creating the recipient sites, and placing the grafts. He has specific technicians he requests for each hair transplant surgery technique that he’s worked with time and time again that have helped provide our patients with incredible outcomes. Dr. Thompson is also the only hair restoration specialist that will be with you through each step of the process, from the pre-operative appointment to surgery, and at each follow up appointment from that point on.

4. Minimal Scarring

Anytime there is a cut in the skin there will be a scar. But, with Dr. Thompson’s skill, the incision on the back of the head with FUT hair transplant procedures is barely detectable even when looking through the hair to find the incision. FUT or strip-method procedures are only performed on patients who plan to wear their hair long enough to cover the incision. For those that like to have the option to shave their full scalp or wear their hair very short, NeoGraft is typically recommend as each graft is removed one at a time and there is no linear scar on the back of the head.

5. Genuine Care and Concern

Dr. Thompson finds great satisfaction in exceeding patient expectations when it comes to hair transplant surgery. He takes genuine care and concern for each patient and works hard to ensure they receive the best outcome possible with safety as the highest priority. Because of this, many of our hair transplant patients are referrals from previous patients of Dr. Thompson’s at Utah Hair MD.
