PhD Nutrition VMX2 Review – Raspberry Lemonade

PhD’s VMX2 claims to be an advanced, high-performance formula that is suitable for bodybuilders, athletes, powerlifters and team sports.

It helps bodybuilder with their reps of heavyweights, deliver explosive strength to powerlifters, offers increased performance for athletes and helps with short burst strength and match endurance for team sports.

They say it is so concentrated that they haven’t included colourings to the list to enhance performance.

PhD seems to have created a preworkout that is fit for all.

We’ve decided to put this supplement to the test in our mission to find the best preworkout supplement 2018.

We had 3 different reviewers, 2 male and 1 female, try this supplement before their gym session and give us their honest thoughts and experiences.

They tried PhD Nutrition VMX2 in raspberry lemonade.

Let’s find out if  PhD VMX2 lives up to its expectations…

Packaging

At first glance, this pre-workout looks pretty standard. It’s a white, plastic tub with a white label around. They have limited the colours used on the label to black, silver and red so it looks quite professional.

The lid is silver made from metal and has ‘PhD’ embossed on the top with their logo.

The packaging holds a lot of information, from directions for use, ingredients, nutritional and allergy information, taste tips, when to take and product information.

The writing is quite small, so the label looks pretty full and cluttered with information.

This tub is large, for saying it only has 40 servings.

I definitely think they could reduce the size of this, its only half full after all.

Ingredients

Creapure Creatine Monohydrate, Beta Alanine, Flavouring, Taurine, Tri-Methyl Glycine, Dextrose Monohydrate, Niacin (Vitamin B3), Beetroot Extract, Caffeine Anhydrous, N-Acetyl L-Tyrosine, L-Histidine, PepForm Arginine Peptides [L-Arginine, Whey Peptides (Milk)], American Ginseng, Glucuronolactone, Grapeseed Extract, Potassium Bicarbonate, Sodium Bicarbonate, Vitamin B6, Vitamin B12, Acid (Malic Acid), Black Pepper Extract, Sweetener (Sucralose), Anticaking Agent (Silicon Dioxide).

Directions for Use

Add 1 scoop (10g) to 300ml of ice cold water and shake for 10 seconds.

Taste and Mixability

PhD’s VMX2Raspberry lemonade did not taste very nice, it was strong and not what I expected.

It eventually became a smooth consistency but it took vigorous stirring to get it there, and I was still left with a fair bit of residue at the bottom of the glass.

With constant shaking, the residue would separate and it didn’t really affect the texture or consistency.

Side Effects

I didn’t experience any serious or different side effects to what I’ve experienced before – I felt a tingle on my hands and ears.

That is just a temporary side effect from beta-alanine.

It feels a bit like pins and needles, it didn’t affect my workout.

The tingle helped me to know when the preworkout had kicked in, it’s nice to know when the supplement is kicking in.

Effectiveness

After around 15 minutes, I felt a huge energy boost. I was ready to workout and motivated to push myself.

It felt like I had 3 cups of coffee before I went to the gym.

I cannot fault this pre-workout for the energy I felt, even if it did taste gross.

I felt focused and ready to workout. My workout was decent, focussing on cardio and a few weights.

But, where I normally hate doing cardio, I really pushed myself to a new level. I didn’t get as bored or worn out compared to normal. I actually enjoyed my HIIT session.

I felt really focused and engaged throughout my workout with PhD’s VMX2.

I would definitely use it again.

Overall, I would rate PhD VMX2 a 9/10.
