Now as US states approve the usage of recreational as well as medicinal cannabis, ancillary Businesses ranging from professional services to help standardize operations, taxation and sales to security, diagnostics and even energy, are making cannabis-related businesses viable investment opportunities.

Unegovsky notes, “Cannabis isn’t much more difficult or different than many other types of business interests,” when it comes to operating or investing in a related enterprise. “Careful financial planning and constant reviews of compliance have to be made to accommodate for taxation on a local, state and federal level.”

Dandelion, a family-owned business located in Santa Rosa, California, has been an organic farm for decades,  providing 100 percent natural fertilization and soil enhancements for growers.

While the financial industry is still sorting through legislative and tax hurdles to accommodate expansion capital needs for cannabis-related businesses, investment groups like CannaAngels in Marin County have sought to fill the void.
