April 20: the day Americans have celebrated the oft fabled and demonized plant, Cannabis sativa (and the popular indica strain) for years. Now that more states have legalized medical and/or recreational use, all things cannabis are “in.”

For example:
- Colorado will see its first drive-thru cannabis shop open.
- Green Rush, of San Francisco fame, will be hosting a “Bud Drop,” in homage to the New Year’s Eve ball drop in New York City.
- Music festivals abound in Seattle and Portland.
- The cable television channel Viceland will debut a week-long show entitled, “Weed Week,” in the style of Animal Planet’s, “Shark Week.” Las Vegas will go predictably big with the party-goers choice of dozens of parties, at all scales and locales.
On a more micro-level, several companies have been granted U.S. trademarks for their business’ logos – these are hard-fought and long term victories that federally recognize the needs of legitimate cannabis businesses.
The state of Colorado is booking sales in excess of $100 million per month in cannabis and working towards solving real social and political issues in its state – all in the face of a purported Trump threatened crackdown. Dozens of federal bills sit with Congress for re-scheduling, banking options, interstate commerce availability, and reduction or elimination of federal taxing schematics that penalize the emerging Cannabis Industry.
On the international stage, G-7 countries are looking to fully legalize cannabis. Israel is embracing clinical testing in medical properties, and other nations, overwhelmed with violent and organized crime, are taking cannabis off the table as a criminal item, to great success in reducing judicial burden.
All emerging markets suffer setbacks, hiccups and bumps in the road. The cannabis industry seems to have a tremendous upside and desirability in a number of American markets. How will you cash in and participate?
