I went back to trading again as from the 9.10.2017 and stuck to Laz’s Pioneer set up, just 15 min trades, quick in and out just a few hour trades. I made a few mistakes, however, I am very happy to say that my trading account is back to where I started from and some more. You will note that my account dropped from $ 5,000 to $ 4,000 prior to 9.10.2017 and I was very disillusioned.

With Laz’s set up, I go through the pairs according to the plan, check the Risk Calculator, which I have set up for 35 pips – an average for the Pioneer setups, and place the trades at 1:1 ratio. Where there was Pound involved I adjusted the volume to half most of the time.

When I have the Pioneer well and truly under my belt I will look at the other plans, but this time I will rush slowly.

Being retired I have plenty of time to devote to extensive backtesting of trade ideas using raw OHLC data and complex Excel spreadsheets. I find back testing to be an essential ingredient for success. Not only does it prove or disprove what you think might be a good idea, it also gives you the confidence to stick with a strategy if you know it works in the long term, despite the inevitable string of losers. Some of the trades I’ve been testing look quite promising but October has been a tough month to trade with very Low Atr. Most of my normal trade plan trades failed to setup because of the unusually low ATR environment. That left me with trialing some new low ATR setups that I’ve been backtesting recently and am now live testing at low volume. Fortunately, I still made 7.8% without my main trades, but am looking forward to volatility picking up so that I can get back to my real trade plan.

I’ve been involved with LTG for many years and often struggled to turn a profit. Much is said of “finding your edge” and it’s always eluded me.

My problem has been not following a plan, and my trading has been “all over the place”. I got fed up with trading due to the losses and stopped for some time, but recently started again, determined to follow a plan.

I did that, I followed a simple plan and kept to one currency pair, only investing when the pair matched my criteria. It meant that I traded less, but my trades were mostly profitable, and any losses were minimised. My account slowly grew, and as it did, I felt able to risk a little bit more.

I am still tempted to stray from the plan, and do so to my detriment, but this is my journey to becoming a successful trader. It’s getting better.

This is my second month since starting to trade again, and I’m encouraged.

Have been a member since Early 2017. Trading shares and binaries previously. Watching webinars and using some of the trading suggestions. Finally gaining consistency and more regimentation in my trading.

Nearly 7% gain for last month on smallish account might not be big but over a year could be substantial. With strategies proven I can ramp up. Used combination of 50/200s, Laz’s Bonanza’s, and the new TIA’s.

Also working on my own engulfing candle price action strategy.

Just retired so looking now to fill some income void (the odd bottle), and loving it!
