Have you ever thought to yourself this can't be my life?
Well, I had one of those days today. I'm sitting on a forklift thinking how my life is a repeated cycle. Going to a job I'm not passionate about! Sacrificing the things I love doing! Making someone else richer putting my dreams on hold, being distracted from living an ultimate lifestyle.
We miss out on our kids growing up... We miss those special moments with our loved ones...(quality time)...
All this is running through my mind while my co-workers scramble around like mindless drones waiting for a command! I guess after 5 years a person hits a breaking point... my co-work left after 5 years he said," I've been doing this shit too long." I could see the fatigue on his face.
Ironically, his replacement was on a job for 5 years. He seemed exhausted just thinking about his last job. Maybe new scenery makes it easier to cope, however, different building same sacrifice... and we do this for 30 to 40 more years, REALLY?!
I was blown away by this! 8-hours a dayandtimes;5 days=40 hour weekandtimes;1month=160 hours. Let's say you miss 1 month a year... that's 8,800 hours not including overtime in 5 years you've given to a company doing something that doesn't make you rich. Even worse doing something you're not passionate about...
Meanwhile, your employer is on a yacht having red wine... I know right!
