Introduction

Hello all,

This is my first post on this blog about reenactments and history. The main Focus will be on the military and civilian life subjects from the beginning of XVII century to the end of XIX century.

Why the “Pipe and Bayonet” you ask? Simple! Those are the two most Common things you would find during the black powder era. Pipe – is a symbol of a calm civilian life and on the other hand the Bayonet is the common soldiers tool, that is used for 400 year now! Isn't that great ?

Now about my motivations – I'm an historian and reenactor of the Napoleonic era for about few years now. I seen Stuff, done stuff and shoot stuff, but there was always a thing that was missing for me on the Internet – yup, your right – a page/blog where I could find historical articles and read news from the reenactment groups from all over the world. So I decided to make one.

About the articles – long, short, flash news will appear here about everything related to the common life of soldiers and civilians. I don't want to focus only on Europe, but hey! It's the first step, so stay tuned for some great info.

Too gain your interest here is a French soldier smoking a pipe and having a bayonet on his musket.

Stay sharp and see you on the next post!
