A Brief on the SSC Exam

SSC exam is conducted in four tiers – Tier 1, Tier 2, Tier- and Tier 4. Tire 1 and Tier 2 of SSC exam is generally conducted online. Tier 3 is conducted as open and paper based examination and Tier 4 exam is generally conducted to check the computer skill set of the candidate.

The online Tier 1 exam consists of four sections – General intelligence and reasoning, general awareness, Quantitative aptitude and English comprehension. There will be a total of 100 questions in all the section that means 25 questions of 50 marks from each section. That is the total mark of Tier 1 exam is 200 for which the candidates will get a cumulative time of 60 minutes. Tier 3 will be a descriptive test and you will be given to write an essay or précis or letter or application or any such descriptive paper. You can write this paper in English or Hindi. This paper is of 100 marks and you will be given 1 hour to complete this test.

Tier 4 is Computer skill test. It will be conducted in two stages: DEST test and CPT stages. In DEST stage you will be given to type 2000 words on computer in English and you will be given 15 minutes to complete it.
