6 Activities to Express Your Gratitude This Teacher’s Day

Whether your child loves his or her Teacher or doesn’t like going to school, chances are their preschool teacher does all sorts of great things for your child. These are the people that play a huge role in a child’s life other than the parents. That’s why showing your appreciation and teaching your kids why their preschool teachers are special is important.

When and Why World Teacher’s Day Is Celebrated?
World Teacher’s Day is celebrated every year on October 5 to honor and recognize the contribution of teachers to education and learning. World Teachers’ Day commemorates the signing of the 1966 UNESCO/ILO Recommendation regarding the Status of Teachers. World Teachers’ Day 2017 will be observed under the theme “Teaching in Freedom, Empowering Teachers”.

Here are six activities you can do with your kids to help them show their gratitude this upcoming World Teacher’s Day:

  1. Arrange a Breakfast or Lunch
Organize a breakfast or lunch event at the school or on the weekend. Organize with other parents in your child’s class and always do the work and foot the bill. If nobody wants to cook, you can always take them out to lunch or buy them a gift certificate to a favorite restaurant in the area.

  2. Craft a Simple Art
Make a simple art project with your kids. Even some macaroni art that spells out “World’s Best Teacher” or a similar sentiment can mean a lot. Just make sure you kids deliver the art the day they’re supposed to!

  3. Show Love with Flowers
Send flowers to your child’s teacher. Everybody loves getting flowers at work and teachers are no different! Get the parents together to pitch in a few dollars each and you’ll be able to buy a wonderful bouquet.

  4. Surprise Them with a Special Treat
Make a special treat with your child to give to their favorite teacher. Cookies, brownies and even things like homemade pies can really mean a lot. It is the best way to thank and express gratitude towards the teachers.

  5. Gift Cards
Don’t be afraid to offer Gift Cards, especially if you’re giving to a young teacher. Gift cards are a great way to show love and appreciato the teachers. This will help making this World Teacher’s Day memorable for the teachers.

  6. Buy Movie Tickets
Buy your child’s teacher something simple like movie tickets. Everybody likes going to the movies. This will make the teachers feel special and is the perfect way to celebrate their contribution in your child’s life.
