Titli Cyclone intensifies in a very violent cyclonic storm, it is expected to reach the Odisha-Andhra Pradesh coast in less than 24 hours.

The meteorological office said the Titli cyclone will likely hit the Gopalpur areas of Odisha and Kalingapatanam in Andhra Pradesh early Thursday at a wind speed of up to 165 km / h. According to Odisha general secretary AP Padhi, the hurricane is expected to land in southern Odisha around 5:30 am on Thursday.

“Titli moved at a speed of about 14 km / h and intensified to form a very intense cyclonic storm, centered on the Bay of Bengal, in the center-west, about 320 km from south to south, from Gopalpur to Odisha” said IMD in a newsletter.

The Joint Warning Center of the US Navy Typhoon also said that the hurricane was consolidating rapidly and signs of a nascent eye were beginning to form.

According to the IMD, Titli cyclone intensified again on Wednesday at 11:30 am in a very violent cyclonic storm that could cause waves up to 1 meter on the coast. Under its impact, heavy rains have already begun in the districts of Ganjam, Gajapati, Puri, Balasore and Kendrapara.

HR Biswas, director of the Bhubaneswar Meteorological Center, said he is likely to tip to the northeast, go to Gangetic West Bengal in Odisha and gradually weaken, according to the PTI news agency.
