Class 10 Students Require Overall 33% Marks to Pass Board Exams of 2018

Providing relief to large number of class 10 students all over the country CBSE has changed its rule of assessment for the current session of board examinations. As we all know that CBSE has reintroduced the traditional pattern of board exams from the current session i.e. 2017-18. The new addition is 20 marks internal assessment (IA) and 80 marks for external assessment. As per the new notification issued by CBSE on 27th Feb-2018 the examination committee of the board said that this is going to be one time exemption.

According to this circular, the board has decided to implement overall 33% marks Pass Criteria for class 10 board exams 2018 only. Thus, students need to secure overall 33% (both internal assessment and board examination taken together) in a subject to be able to pass that subject.

However, for the vocational subjects the above exemption will not be applicable. In these subjects the mandatory pass criteria of securing 33% in both Internal as well as External shall apply.
