How to Check the JEE Main 2019 Result?

Since the JEE Main Exam will be conducted in multiple shifts, results for the January session will be declared on 31st January 2019. Candidates will be able to view the exam result by logging in to the registered ID by entering the application number and date of birth. The detailed procedure is as follow. Candidates need to go to the official website of NTA JEE Main; access the link that leads to JEE Main Result; enter in roll number and date of birth along with the security pin; click on submit, and the result PDF will open in a new window. Candidates may download and keep printed copies of the result. Upon accessing the JEE Main Score Card, candidates will be able to view name of the candidates, Date of birth, Roll Number, Candidate’s Photograph, Signature, sectional marks, qualifying marks, candidate’s All India Rank, Category wise rank, and State Rank. Since there will be multiple means of ranking, NTA has opted for a nominalization method to avoid unequal gain of marks.

How is the JEE Main 2019 Result calculated?

JEE Mains examination is conducted in multiple shifts, over several days. Moreover, the exam difficulty is usually varied and it would be wrong to judge candidates solely on their exam test score. For this purpose, NTA has introduced the Normalization technique based on the candidate’s percentile score. This is to neither benefit nor disadvantaged due to the varied difficulty level of the examination.

The Percentile score of a Candidate is calculated as follows: 100 X Number of candidates appeared in the “Session” with raw score EQUAL TO OR LESS than the candidate / Total number of the candidates appeared in the “Session”.

Note: The Percentile of the Total shall NOT be an aggregate or average of the Percentile of an individual subject. Percentile score is not the same as the percentage of marks obtained.

What after the JEE Main Result 2019?

After the conclusion of the whole JEE Main proceedings, Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) will take over for furthering the admission process. This will be a crucial stage for the candidates as their admissions will be finalized at this level. NTA JEE Main Counselling 2019 will be conducted by JoSAA/CSAB for admission into IIITs, NITs, and CFTIs. Admission will be solely based on All India Rankings of the candidates. AIR will be released by NTA along with the JEE Main Result. For participating in the counseling process, candidates will have to register themselves from the official website of JoSAA, filling in choices and locking the choices, waiting for the seat allotment result, and confirming admissions by making fee payment.
