Preshool Activity to Develop Social Skills

 Preschoolers And Social Skills                                                                                                         A child is bound to absorb the surrounding atmosphere where he/she is brought up. Parents and teachers play the most important part to develop their Social Skills as they interact with them at home and in the classroom respectively. Their behavior has a life-long impact on them as they acquire what they see and hear. It's a relationship of a child with these two main influences on his/her social growth.

Parents interact with children at home .They come to  school with the same adopted attitudes learnt from their parents, and then teachers give feedback to the parents. Similarly teachers interact with children in the school and children adopt their behavior, then parents give feedback to the teachers.
These two major influences are to depict and demonstrate to children about how to communicate and interact with others.
If you are a teacher, then firstly you should control yourself, be calm, be patience and be a role model to set social rules not only for young learners, but also for you. These rules could be embedded through activities and teachers’ positive sharing to build a child’s character.

DO the shown activity to improve children's social learning to control the use of bad Face Expressions for others. Children will catch face expressions (full of anger )and put them in a bottle or box to be closed forever. Young learners will be able to know that Bad Expressions are disliked by others and are to be controlled.

What are social skills in children

It’s training to:talk to others, speak nicely, solve a problem, wait for your turn, listen to others, help others, ask for help, follow the steps, play together, be responsible for your actions or behavior, good use of body language and face expressions ,respect others, be calm in a difficult situation ,express your feelings verbally ,not harm or hurt anyone .                                                                                                      Social Skills in Teachers are;

  don’t label a child neither negatively nor positively by saying naughty, shy, bright, lazy, good, bad, clever, sharp, intelligent, active etc. This is a terrible thing. Negative labelling damage a child’s personality and a positive label can be a problematic because if they hear it often enough, it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy and the child starts to believe I’m born sharp. Sometimes overconfidence creates problems in a child's life. Try to build a positive relationship between you and children. To build a strong trust never snub them, don’t hurt their well-being and show your genuine interest to listen them and in their play. They can judge easily our fake smile and interest. Adopt teaching profession if you really love this, not only to earn money. Before teaching just think once you have a power to change the world and the life of a child and try to know your learners because it's very important to develop your child’s social skills.
